At last, s’mores. If you happen to need a video tutorial on how to make ‘em, please view the following clip from the timeless, American classic, The Sandlot. (I must advise against roasting mallows over tea lights or candles, though. I tried it and it was TERRIBLE, nothing at all like a campfire.)
Hope you have a wonderful Fourth of July!
Preparation Time: 1 minute
Makes: 3 dozen Sandwich Cookies
- 1 recipe Graham Crackers
- 1/4 recipe Vanilla Bean Marshmallows or 36 Jet-Puffed Marshamllows
- 5 ounces (more or less) Milk Chocolate
Prepare campfire and soak long wooden skewers or cleaned branches in water for about 30 minutes (alternately [preferably] use metal ones for lower fire risk). Arrange desired amount of chocolate on top of one graham cracker.
Spear one marshmallow and roast over a campfire until it reaches the desired amount of toastyness. Place on top of chocolate, top with second graham and, squeezing sandwich together slightly, slide skewer out of the mallow. Allow to cool slightly before eating.
Microwave Method (not as good as campfire, softens crackers slightly):
Place desired amount of chocolate on one graham cracker. Top with one marshmallow and microwave on high for 10 seconds or until doubled in size. Place another graham on top to make a sandwich. Let cool slightly then enjoy!
